  • The mail box open, the door locked and stray mail stuck on the latch, flat L-32 in Noida’s Jalvayu Vihar looks every bit its part: unoccupied since July 11, when Dr Rajesh Talwar was released from Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail.

About Rajesh and Nupur Talwar’s whereabouts, his brother Dr Dinesh Talwar said, “They have been staying with me in Hauz Khas, and keep visiting friends and relatives in Noida often.” He said the doctor couple is now regularly going to their clinic in Noida’s Sector-27 since visiting it a few months ago, the first time since Arushi’s murder. The couple’s lawyers have reportedly advised them to refrain from talking to the media and disclosing their address.

Arun Mittar, a relative, today said, “They have been staying with friends and relatives and visit Jalvayu Vihar often. But we cannot reveal their location.” Nupur Talwar’s parents also live in the same locality and the couple has visited the place often, a few members of Jalvayu Sahkari Awas Samiti (the RWA), said.

A neighbour (name withheld on request) said, “I have not seen them around for a long time but have heard that they sometimes visit their relatives here.”

Another neighbour said though the house remains locked, the family has not moved out permanently.

Dinesh, a washerman who runs his business below the building, said, “They (the Talwars) have not shifted the furniture and other items from the house.”

Respect their privacyBy: Indian | 16-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward At Indian Express should respect the privacy of someone who lost a daughter. The partents have been troubled enough by the media. Media also helped in contaminating the evidence by running amock at crime scene. Its not media's job to prosecute, that job is still with the courts, the police is there to investigate. Media should provide news, about the event and any lapse in the process of inquiry and adjudication. Please maintian a standard.
