The body of a man with injury marks was found on the Tajpur road this morning. Identified as Aslam, a native of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, he was working in the city for the last one decade. Recently, he had left his job and cleared all his dues with his hosiery-unit employer.

On Tuesday morning, some passers-by spotted the body near the Central Jail and reported the matter to the police. A police party from the Division number 7 police station reached the spot to investigate the matter. Later, SSP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill also reached the spot to take a stock of the investigations.

Sources said that a diary found on the body of the deceased helped the police identify him. Sources said two of his colleagues, who also had left their job along with Aslam, were also missing.The police have registered a case.
