  • The Rajasthan Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the May 13 Jaipur serial blasts have recently recovered a CD from prime suspect Shahbaz Hussain’s house in Lucknow containing incriminating details on terror tactics and speeches by Osama Bin Laden.

The SIT is interrogating Hussain about the CD. “The CD contains clips about integrated circuits, Laden speeches, atrocities against Muslims, making of bombs and weapons and using them, destruction of the Bamyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan and commando training,” said a senior police SIT official on condition of anonymity.

He said these videos could have been used in the training camps held in Rajasthan, Kerala and other states. However, the police denied having proof of a link between SIMI and Al-Qaeda or the Taliban.

Rajasthan Additional Director General of Police A K Jain on Tuesday confirmed that the CD was recovered and said the Indian Mujahideen e-mails sent just after the blasts were drafted by Abu Bashir Mufti, the alleged mastermind in the Ahmedabad blasts, and Mohammad Altaf Subhan, but were sent by persons who are yet to be identified.

“Bashir wrote the religious and ideological content in Hindi, while Subhan, mocked the intelligence bureau as “ignorant bureau” and threatened to carry out more strikes. We have verified this, but cannot disclose details at this moment,” Jain said.
