  • RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav got a taste of what it is like to be out of power last Friday. He had called a press conference at his residence in a bid to tear apart Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Rail Budget. He needed some papers from Rail Bhavan to strengthen his case. So he called a “trusted” railway official, one of his key men during his term, to bring him the required documents. According to the grapevine, despite promising to deliver, the official went “incommunicado” soon after, even as Lalu’s aide Prem Chand Gupta kept calling him. After waiting for over an hour, Lalu finally proceeded to address the media without the required papers.
