  • He was tipped to visit Harvard Business School and lecture its students on the “turnaround of Indian Railways”. But that never happened considering Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s belief that leaders visiting foreign shores too often end up losing their grassroots base back home. However, having refused many foreign trips so far, Lalu has finally agreed to a lecture tour to Singapore and Malaysia, where he plans to address business school students on his favourite topic. It’s another matter though that the schools Lalu is slated to visit are the ones which the Railways has been paying huge sums to for getting its officials trained in business management. Little wonder then that they are more than happy to oblige the head of the organisation that gives them big business.
