Land documents go missing from district court in Surat

Important documents related to disputed Ramji Krupa row house in the Katargam area of Surat have gone missing from the district court custody.

Important documents related to disputed Ramji Krupa row house in the Katargam area of Surat have gone missing from the district court custody. Following this,the Crime branch cops have summoned four clerks of the court.

The Crime branch cops investigating into the complaint regarding forging land documents of Ramji Krupa row house in Katargam had arrested Chuni Gajera,brother of senior Congress leader Dhiru Gajera and others.

Following Gajera’s arrest,the cops raided his office to find out the land-related documents. During questioning,Gajera told cops that the land documents were with the court as the civil case was going on. Gajera is one of the leading diamond businessmen in the city.

When the Crime branch Police Inspector J M Patel approached the court to seek the documents,it came to be known that they had gone missing from the civil court of Judge K N Vyas.

Following this,the cops requested the court to give them permission to carry out investigation in the matter. After getting green signal from the court,the cops summoned four clerks of the court. They are identified as Jayesh Patel,N V Dhimmer,K I Gandhi and R V Tarvaia. All the four clerks have been directed to remain present for their statement by Crime branch officials.

Patel said,“The land-related documents with the court have gone missing. We have summoned four clerks to record their statements. Strict legal action will be taken against those who are involved in this act.”
