  • Last month when airline heads along with Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel met Petroleum Minister Murli Deora after the Jet Airways lay-off drama, it was Air India CMD Raghu Menon who was surprisingly the most vocal about the compulsion to lay off employees if some relief on ATF did not come their way. Matters came to such a point that Deora had to remind him that he was still heading a PSU and could take no such unilateral decision. While some relief did eventually come from the Petroleum Ministry, few have forgotten Menon’s stridency.
