There might hindrances in the way of Lanka Govt’s determined efforts to rehabilitate the internally displaced Tamils.

Sri Lankan Tamils are unhappy with India's stand on Sri Lankan military action against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the island nation.

These were the views expressed by a team of Sri Lankan journalists of Tamilian origin at a meeting hosted by the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in New Delhi on Monday.

They contended that Sri Lankan Tamils feel India cooperated with the Sri Lankan government rather than doing something for them.

"As far as Tamils are concerned they are in a position of humiliation. They feel they are humiliated by every one including India. They expected India to at least do something during the later stage and even India coordinated and cooperated with the Sri Lankan government," said R Bharati, Editor, Udayan and Sodoroli, published from Sri Lanka.

Although the Sri Lankan Government is determined to rehabilitate the internally displaced Tamil families from the north, there might hindrances in its way, said another journalist.

"The intention is there but Rajapaksa Government also has certain hard-liner allies who would not like him to take that route but wait and see how it works. It may not work out as quickly as most of us would wish but I think eventually there is a determination to resolve this problem," said N Vithyatharan, a senior journalist from Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka declared total victory on LTTE on May 18 in a 25-year civil war after crushing the last resistance put up by the separatist Tamil Tigers and killing the LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran.

What else do you expect?By: venkat | 04-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward After killing 2000 Indian Army soldiers what else do the Sri Lankan Tamils expect from India? The Sri Lankan tamils are a ungrateful and treacherous lot who should be completely eliminated.
China and Pakistan will teach India lesson with nuclear bombingBy: kk | 16-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward This will happen for sure - China and Pakistan will nuclear bomb India and India will nuclear bomb Srilanka. Tamil Diaspora will remove all Tamils from Srilanks before that. So good luck Indians...... India and Srilanka started and it will end with India and Srilanka.
Mr.By: Jason | 10-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward According to aid groups, more than 44 per cent of 300,000 the people in the at least 40 concentration camps are children. Tens of thousands of those killed in the final days of Sri Lanka ’s cruel military attacks, 45 per cent were children. All in all, Tamil children were disproportionately and deliberately targeted by the state armed machineries in the war, which was perceived as the ‘war on terror’. Sri Lanka continue to pry out, Tamil young women, men and children in very large numbers from these concentration camps in the absence of any independent media, aid groups, or independent monitors. The Sri Lankan military onslaught carried out by Sri Lanka without witnesses on the Tamil civilians have caused a blood bath as over 20,000 Tamil civilians including thousands of children were slaughtered and 30,000 more disabled in the final days. This is an outrageous course of action being carried out without international witnesses and accountability by Sri Lankan state against Tamils

IPKFBy: KS Gupta | 10-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward Why did Tamils kill IPKF? Because they raped thousands of women and killed 6000 Tamils. Why did they kill Rajiv? Because he ordered Prabhakaran's death1
