Lashkar threat letter claims responsibility: Andhra BJP chief

BJP's Andhra Pradesh unit president G Kishan Reddy has claimed that he received a letter from Lashkar-e-Toiba, claiming responsibility for the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts. The letter also purportedly warned of more attacks in Hyderabad, especially in Begum Bazaar, and New Delhi. Kishan Reddy has filed a complaint at Abids police station and submitted copies of the letter, written in Urdu and English. "I received a postcard posted Friday. Written in Urdu and English the letter claimed that LeT was responsible for the blasts. I have given the original letter to police,'' Reddy said.

While officials treated the letter seriously at first, they also said it appeared to be a prank played by some locals on the BJP leader.

"As soon as we found that it was posted locally, we assumed it was a joke on the BJP leader. He has spoken out against Bangladeshi and Myanmar Muslims infiltration and we feel someone wanted to rattle him,'' an official said.
