The Centre has proposed to come out with a legislation to regulate the entry and operations of foreign educational institutions setting up their bases in the country,the government told the Supreme Court on Monday.
The legislation is in the process of finalisation for necessary approval after which it would be introduced in Parliament,the HRD ministry said in a affidavit filed on Monday in connection with a PIL matter relating to deemed universities row.
“The central government is in the process of finalising a legislative proposal for regulating the entry and operations of foreign education providers in India and the same has to be introduced in Parliament after obtaining the necessary approvals within the government,” the affidavit said.
