The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to central and Karnataka governments on a petition filed by Advocates Association Bangalore, challenging an order to set up special investigation team to probe the March 2 incident relating to clash of lawyers, police and media persons in the garden city.
The Supreme Court sought response from the CBI as well as several top state police officers on the special leave petition assailing the state HC verdict delivered on May 16.
Senior counsel K K Venugopal, appearing for the petitioner, claimed that the judgment was full of internal contradictions.
