    • In 1931 the club reached the final of the FA Cup and lost to West Bromwich Albion 1-2.

    • Birmingham City suffered relegation from the top division at the end of the 1985-86season. They were relegated to Third Division for the first time ever at the end of the 1988-89 season. They won promotion as Third Division runners-up three years later, at the end of the 1991-92 season. Came into the new Division One in the 1992-93 season. But they got relegated in the next season. They became Division Two champions next season.

    • Qualified for Division One promotion playoffs in 2001-02 and was promoted to the Premier League where they finished at 13th place.

    • After an initial strong start to the 2006-07 season, they faltered a bit but returned to the top of the league in March.
