Meshram serves notice to chief engineer
Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Vice-Chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram has served a notice to Chief Engineer SN Tripathi, seeking explanation on delay in completion of a drain being constructed from Nehru Enclave to Fun Republic in Gomti Nagar. It was served after Nehru Enclave residents lodged a complaint with the V-C that the delay has been causing inconvenience to commuters for over two years. In the notice, Meshram has sought details of the contractor and junior engineers engaged in the construction. An engineer said: “This drain is being constructed near Nehru Enclave at the cost of Rs 1.70 crore. Almost 50 per cent construction is complete, while the rest is pending because a few electricity poles stand on the land to be dug.” The electricity department has been notified about the requirement and work will be completed only when these poles are shifted, he added.
