LeBron James is one step closer to a Hollywood career. Fantasy Basketball Camp,the sports comedy to which the superstar athlete is attached as an actor,has gained a director in Malcolm D. Lee. Also,Peter Steinfeld has come aboard to pen a new draft. Both moves give the Brian Grazer-produced Universal project drive to the hoop.
Originally written by veteran comedy scribes Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz,the story centers on five men,who come to Las Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending the LeBron James Adult Basketball Camp only to end up dragging James into their various life issues. Lee directed Undercover Brother and Soul Men. Steinfeld’s credits include 21,Be Cool and Analyze That.

Tribeca festival to close with Freakonomics film
A documentary adapted from the best-selling book Freakonomics by filmmakers Alex Gibney and Morgan Spurlock will feature as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival,organisers said.
Freakonomics,based on the book which applies economic theory to societal issues like crime and effective parenting that sold more than 4 million copies worldwide,will premiere at Tribeca that runs from April 21 to May 2. The film has a total of six directors credited,including Spurlock,who made the successful documentary Super Size Me about the influence of the fast food industry.
Gibney,the Academy Award winner for his documentary Taxi To The Dark Side,will also show his film My Trip To Al-Qaeda at Tribeca as well as an untitled work in progress about former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Festival organisers said they will premiere the romance movie,Letters To Juliet starring Vanessa Redgrave as well as the first English language film from French film director Olivier Dahan,called My Own Love Song starring Forest Whitaker and Renee Zellweger.
