Mumbai-based Leelamma Alphanso clocked 3:16:14 to finish first in the women’s group of the South Asia and Middle East category in the Standard Chartered International Marathon held in Singapore on Sunday.
According to information reaching here, India’s Ram Singh Yadav finished seventh in the Nation Challenge category. The Services runner clocked 2:29:30 to finish overall 23rd in Singapore.
After two competitions, the Indian men’s team now leads South Asia and Middle East region with a total cumulative timing of 4:58:24. The first was in Nairobi. The next race in the series will be held on January 20, in Mumbai. The venue for the final leg is Hong Kong.
Currently, India’s overall standing is sixth among 33 national teams.
