Congress Legislative Party leader Manas Bhuniya today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against the state government and the state Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta for allegedly violating the model of conduct by presenting the entire budget for the year on March 20 instead of presenting the vote-on-account for four months.
“The state government was supposed to present the vote-on-account for the next four months. But it presented the full budget, which is a violation of the code of conduct. How can beneficiary schemes be announced after the election dates were declared. But the state government declared that the BPL people will get rice for Rs 2 for the rest of the year,” said Bhuniya.
