Last week, Union Road and Transport Minister T R Baalu stepped into full gear and promised to throw open the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway this week. But in the media handout detailing the milestones, the ministry proudly says that the inauguration was delayed by some small issues when the “major works of the facility were completed on 31st December, 2008”. December 2008? Quite a possibility given the fact that dates and deadlines seem to have no meaning in road projects.
