What happened in
Sydney was another instance of bad umpiring. This isn’t the first such case and it won’t be the last if the ICC doesn’t step in to do something about it. Why do Bucknor’s decisions go wrong when he is umpiring India’s matches? We request the media to get the ICC to frame some guidelines on what needs to be done when umpires get their verdicts wrong. Third umpires should be vested with more powers.
If the decision given by the ground umpire is wrong, then the third umpire should intervene and overturn the decision. Wrong verdicts can spoil the game.

True to the game
India lost the second Test match badly and the Australians won the match badly. But the real loser was the game of cricket. Let the world watch the adamant Aussies get the trophy. We don’t mind if we lose the match but we would always like to see the Indians play the game with the spirit and respect cricket deserves.

Vote bankers
By asking Taslima Nasreen to apologise to Muslims for her reformist writings, P.R. Dasmunshi is playing the nasty game of vote-bank politics.
