  • Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Phase I, Dugri. The children had a gala time as they danced around the holy bonfire and offered their prayers for the prosperity of the nation.

The students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM), Kitchlu Nagar, on Monday were taken in by air of festivity during Lohri celebration. The day began by creating awareness among the students about the significance of the most-awaited Punjabi festival. The students showcased their talent in various activities. A sky touching fun with kite-flying filled everyone with joy, thrill and inspiration. Students of middle section gave a tone of sports to the day by various matches of basketball and volleyball being played between different sections. BVM principal Santosh Mehra congratulated all and dwelled on the importance of such festivals.

“Bhatti wale” arrived at Love Dale, just before the Lohri festival. The children came to Montessori, dressed in traditional folk costumes — the girls in lehngas and boys with loongi and pagri. They gave vent to the festival theme by singing folk songs and reciting ‘Bobyan.’ Some young artistes were also given chance to perform on the stage. Merry-making reached peak level when bonfire was lighted and nuts and gachak were distributed. In the end, the children had a gala time by flying kites.
