Talks between Team Anna and the government completely broke down after the third round on Wednesday night with the government hardening its position on the civil society's Jan lokpal Bill. After going a mile yesterday - raising hope that the government would astutely negotiate a solution to this impasse - the government at the third at the latest meeting virtually ruled out any compromise on the sticking points between the two sides. Earlier,in the evening an all party meet convened on the Lokpal log jam had seem a majority opinion emerged ion the need for a Lokpal Bill stronger than that of the government. While parties said due consideration should be given to Team Anna's Jan Lokpal Bill, they also maintained that a bill could not be passed by ignoring proper parliamentary procedure. Team Anna has almost demanded that legislature bend backward to accomodate their demand.
