  • Flowy, roomy outfits rule the runway of Lakme Fashion Week’s Spring Summer edition

    Show of the day
On Monday, Nachiket Barve’s clothes gave geometry a new dimension. From chalk-coloured to bright ochres and greens, his clothes were airy and ethereal. He carried forward flower patterns in cutwork from the last season, but the addition of layers gave his dresses a novel look.

    Goss of the day
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, why is LFW Spring/ Summer 2009 the emptiest of them all? Well, someone told us that most people are yet hung over from Delhi Fashion Week and Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Capital style? So be it.

    Ensemble of the day
Ruchi Mehta’s translucent chiffons made for a fantastic watch. The honeymoon-by-the-beach tunic over a jumpsuit is sheer and beautiful, just the kind of stuff that fashion weeks are made for.

    Trend of the day
Breathe, say the Spring Summer clothes at the Lakme Fashion Week. Slip into asymmetrical, easy-on-the-skin kaftan tunics in sheer fabrics. Look neat and scrubbed in pastels and whites. Be fresh, be fashionable.

    Celeb of the day
The elegant Jaya Bachchan occupied the front row and cheered for designers Nachiket Barve and Nikasha. Sweet as ever, she injected some glamour into some seriously shine-deprived proceedings.
