  • It’s easy enough to get lost in a city like Delhi without accounting for its perpetually changing facade—new flyovers, alternate routes and fresh landmarks. With MapmyIndia’s Navigator, you can forget about losing your way.

A standalone GPS device, the Navigator can chart out a course to almost any destination in the country. It’s as simple as propping it up on the dashboard or windshield and keying in your destination. Then, in a clear voice, it lets you know when to take a turn and a beep reminds you when you are 200 m from a bend. All of which makes it practically impossible to miss a crucial turn. “Even if you miss it, the device recalculates the route and tells you what to do next,” says Rohan Verma, head of CE info systems, the firm that runs MapmyIndia.

The Navigator also highlights the route with a bright purple line on top of the roads. It has a list of all the ‘points of interest’ on your route. So with a single flick of the stylus you can find the nearest petrol pump, ATM or hospital, besides a range of restaurants and government buildings.

What defines this device is the ease with which you can personalise it. You can set up your home and office addresses, even customise places of your interest. These are available on its 3.5-inch touch screen. “Wherever you are, the Navigator will guide you back home via the route that takes minimum time,” says Verma.
