  • The LPG cylinders, which were used in the blasts at LG Hospital and Civil Hospital, have been found to be manufactured in Merath, Uttar Pradesh , with their distributors traced to Kalupur, Ahmedabad.

Sources said Ahmedabad’s Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) officials have been trying to find the distributor of cylinders in Ahmedabad city. According to DCB officials, LPG cylinders of 5-litre capacity each were used in the blasts at the two hospitals with at least two manufacturing agencies, from Merath, Mayur and Golden Click, sending them to Ahmedabad through a distributor in Kalupur.

Sources said the distributor has been detained for questioning. Five cylinders were used in the blasts that occurred outside the Trauma Centre of the Civil Hospital in which more than 25 people were killed.
