Sharing his Vision 2012, Rahul Gandhi on Monday asked Congress leaders in Uttar Pradesh to take the Lok Sabha elections as the semi-final and start preparing for the finals — the Assembly elections three years later.

“This election is just the semi-final for Uttar Pradesh. We have to prepare for the final that will come after three years. I’m sure that if we work hard, then in the final there will be our government in Uttar Pradesh,” the AICC general secretary said in his address at a meeting of the UP Congress executive.

An executive member said Rahul had shared his Vision 2012 with some partymen in the past, but this was the first time he spoke to the entire executive about it.

During this recent meeting in Delhi with the four Youth Congress zonal presidents of Uttar Pradesh also, Rahul had spoken about his Vision 2012 and had asked them to start working for it.

“We are forming our organisation in such a manner that it will benefit us in the Vidhan Sabha elections that are due for 2012,” Rahul said.

The meeting was held at an engineering college in Mohanlalganj area after Sonia Gandhi filed her nomination papers for the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency. In her brief remarks, Sonia asked partymen to remember that “party comes first and then comes the individual”.

“You should all forget the differences and make each and every Congress candidate win,” she added.

For every youth who attained 18 years of age have they provided interest free loan? Are the government employees efficient and corrupt free? If it had done so there wouldnt have been so much of chaos.Best way 2 rejoice Ambedkar Jayanthi!Vote Mayawati! As PM 2 get the Master Key!Elephant is the symbol of BSP!SMS this 2 ur Pals, do Door 2 Door Campaign and B Happy!
UP TournamentBy: Hero Vaz | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Is the quarter-final over? What was the result? Defeats for the Congress? And still, they are in the semi-final. How come? Umpires or tournament organisers cheating??? And finally, before the next UP elections are due, will there be a UP? Many, including Mayawati, are crying for the State to be broken up into smaller states of sensible size. There may not, after all, be a final. Some people are in the habit of shooting off their big mouths without thinking. Rahul fills the bill.
Improve yourself or leave politics.By: Aniyan | 07-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Rahul, you are misfit for Indian politics. Everybody thought, you were going to create a cyclonic change for the party prospect. But, with all the advantages given on your side, such as, if you want, you can even dismiss the Prime Minister, you are yet to take off. India needs an aggressive young leader. Your brother is fantastic except for the unwanted statements.
No Rahu please do not use such Heavy words !!By: Aniyan | 07-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Dear Rahu, just refrain from making such heavy words. In last Assembly elections, wherever you delivered speech, Congress lost or got less votes than before. So, just keep away from using such big announcements. Actually you just heard but never know what actually meanings of it.
Rahul's Game in U.P.By: Sreenivasan E.C. | 07-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward In fact Congress Party has never paid much attention to the affairs of U.P. whenever they were comfortably seated in Delhi. This time around perhaps Mr. Rahul Gandhi and family will get much time to be with the people of U.P. to see and listen to their problems. Most probably, Soniaji and Rahulji will become M.Ps again and they will also be having a lot of free time because the responsibilities of running a government from Delhi will not be bestowed on them by the electorate of India. So let us hope that Rahul Gandhi gets to play his first leg matches in Panchayat elections and thereon. He is not a bad guy. He will become a good politician also if he is allowed to go through the day to day politics of U.P. for a longer time. Congress party still has the strength to come back to win the hearts of common people, dragging them back into the congress camp from BSP and SP.Congress is going to get a big opportunity now. I wish Mr. Rahul Gandhi all the best.
