The admission procedure in the Lucknow University (LU) will be wrapped up by August 14. The decision was taken in a meeting of principals of affiliated colleges on Saturday.
Welcoming the principals of 11 colleges that recently came under the jurisdiction of the LU,Vice- Chancellor AS Brar said first year classes of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in these colleges will run from July as per the universitys schedule whereas the ongoing second and third year courses will be controlled by the Kanpur University.
An Ordinance was promulgated in February to extend the jurisdiction of the LU to cover the complete revenue district of Lucknow. Subsequently,the 11 colleges,which were so far part of Kanpur University,came under the LU. The VC has issued strict instructions to the principals for adhering to the admission and examination schedule of the LU, LU Registrar G P Tripathi said.
In a related development,the LU Executive Council has debarred SP Mohsin,a teacher of the Shia College,from evaluating examination copies. Mohsin was found guilty of incorrect evaluation of copies. The decision was taken at the council meeting on Friday. The EC also decided to cancel the PhD awarded to Madhu Singh,a guest Faculty at the IT College,because she was found enrolled in the same college in a course in women studies.
