Lucknow:The Lucknow University administration on Saturday ordered a probe into the alleged irregularities in the admission process in Dabir-e-Mahir, a one year Oriental Studies course. LU Registrar J B Singh has directed the admission coordinator Rajeev Pandey to conduct the inquiry and submit a report as soon as possible.
12 booked for self-immolation bid
Lucknow:The police on Saturday booked 12 physically challenged persons who had come to allegedly self-immolate themselves in front of chief minister's residence in protest against the district handicapped welfare officer of Barabanki, Laxmikant Tiwari. The police also seized eight bottles of kerosene and match boxes.
Ammonia leakage spreads panic
Lucknow:At least three persons were affected due to leakage of ammonia gas from an ice factory in Bazarkhala area on Saturday evening. The incident created panic in the residential area as the police and fire officials tried to control the leakage.
