The concluding day of the World Punjabi Conference, being held at PU, receiveda lukewarm response on Wednesday with not many delegates turning up for the conference.
Talking to Newsline, a faculty member and incharge of the conference, said, “These are the months when almost all colleges have activities in their own campuses. Thus, it is difficult for students to be part of the conference for two consecutive days. This maybe one reason whynot many delegates have turned up today.”
Most of those present were foreign delegates and NRIs.
The session was presided by Professor Bhupinder Singh from the Department of Political Science, PU. Three papers were read in the session by Dr Ronki Ram, Dr Bhagwat Josh from JNU and Professor Jaswinder Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala.
Professor Bhupinder Singh congratulated members of the managing committee for all the arrangements. The stage was conducted by Dr Surjit Lee, Professor Jatinder Mohan, Professor Darshan Singh, Deepak Kapoor and Dr Uma Sethi during the various sessions.
