A Hindi magazine closely associated with the RSS has targeted the BJP for inducting former family welfare minister and NRHM scam accused Babu Singh Kushwaha into the party and subsequently facing the poll debacle in UP.
In the editorial of its April edition, the magazine Rashtradharma underlined the need for removal of the old guard from the mainstream of the BJP organization and fresh opportunities for young and dedicated workers who can strengthen the party at the ground level.
BJP ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Updhayay had established the publishing house "Rashtradharma Prakashan" in Lucknow before 1950 and then launched the monthly magazine Rashtradharma to spread the pro-Hindu ideology of the RSS. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also editor of this magazine. The magazine is regularly sent to RSS cadres across the country and thus, the views expressed in it are considered those of the RSS.
"Bahuteron zilon mein adabhut upalabdhi- bada sa Shunya aur gale lagan lein 'Kushwaha' ko (There are amazing achievements in most of the districts- a large zero and embracing 'Kushwaha')" the magazine said referring to the BJP's decision to induct the tainted leader into the party.
"Wah wah lutera kya whistle blower ban sakta hai whistle blower to koi imandar hee ban sakta hai, chor, uchaka, lutera nahin (Ha, can a prowler become a whistle-blower. Only an honest person can become a whistle-blower and not a prowler or thieves," the editorial added. Earlier, senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had defended Kushwaha's induction into the BJP as the party's 'whistle-blower'.
At one point, the magazine indirectly targets BJP vice-president Vinay Katiyar. "Kushwaha kand kee dhuri samjhe jane wale ko Rajya Sabha ka ticket (the man who was considered to be at the root of the Kushwaha episode was rewarded with a Rajya Sabha berth)."
