Brugge comes to the city this festive season laden with the inimitable taste of Belgian chocolates
The sweet season of indulgence has arrived! For the discerning consumer chocolates have moved beyond the bar variety to more delicately conjured up specialties. A relatively new kid on the chocolate block is Brugge -La Chocolaterie that offers a delight of gourmet Belgian chocolates this Diwali. The city Brugge is situated in northwest Belgium, renowned for its rich heritage of chocolate. The chocolaterie at Dhole Patil road attempts to re create that atmosphere of sheer indulgence.
"All our ingredients are imported from Belgium, and machinery from Germany," says Usma Shaik, who runs Brugge. Each piece has a luscious ganache; a filling made by heating heavy cream, poured over chopped, dark chocolate. Each bite ensures an explosion of unique flavours. Some favourites are Hazelnut Embrace, a crunchy dark chocolate wrapped around a heart of smooth hazelnut, Caramella, milk chocolate with delicious caramel filling and Dark Seduction, rich dark chocolate. "Other manufacturers use a compound of cocoa mass and vegetable fat, we use cocoa mass with butter that gives an intense flavour and melt in your mouth experience!" says Shaikh.
The pièce de résistance is their collection of- Origine Chocolates-Tanzania: A rare dark chocolate with 73per cent cocoa and hint of vanilla; Madagascar: A delicate, pale dark chocolate with 66percent cocoa content; Ecuador: refined dark chocolate with 70percent cocoa yet mild enough to carry flavours and fruity aromas; Arriba: A Creamy milk chocolate with intense Arriba cocoa body and fruity flavours with 39percent cocoa and Ghana: A rare, dark chocolate with 60percent cocoa.
