Mahindra vehicle sales up 20%

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a jump in its total sales in May at 34,323.

Home-grown auto-major,Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M),today reported a 20 per cent jump in its total sales in May at 34,323 units as against 28,488 in the same month last year.

In May,the company registered a 19 per cent jump in sales in the domestic market to 32,159 units as compared to 27,038 units in the same month last year.

In the passenger vehicles segment,(which includes Uvs as well as the newly-launched Verito),M&M recorded a 20 per cent increase in May to 16,702 units,as against 13,939 units in the same month last year.

During the month,the company’s Verito sedan registered a 185 per cent jump to 1,291 units from 450 units in the same month last year.

M&M exported 2,164 vehicles in May this year as against 1,068 units in the same month last year.

“We are happy with the 20 per cent growth that we have clocked in May. All our brands have been doing well,with the recently launched Verito having sold 1,290 vehicles,almost three times as compared to last May,” Mahindra & Mahindra Chief Executive (Automotive Division),Rajesh Jejurikar said in a statement.
