Make Antulay, Rane witness in 26/11 case: Defence lawyer

    Pleading for Sabauddin's discharge, Naqvi said the prosecution had also failed to explain their claim as to how the maps allegedly made by Faheem were sent to Pakistan by Sabauddin. Besides, Kasab had not implicated Sabauddin in his confession, he said.

    In another development, Sabuaddin withdrew his application which sought dismissal of police officers for alleged torture in custody and arrest of FBI sleuths Jeff and Mike for interrogating him in this case.

    The court allowed advocate K B N Laam to appear along with Naqvi for accused Sabauddin.

    Hearing plea of the accused, the court also directed Investigating officer to produce the belongings of Sabauddin on the next occasion as he has sought return of his property.

    The court also granted time till May 2 to lawyer Saba Qureshi to submit arguments on behalf of accused Faheem Ansari on charges proposed by the prosecution against him.

Sonia found it convenient to accomodate Rane. Its ironic what our democracy and politics cannot do will be done by a convict who entire India wants to hang at the earliest possibility. One hopes that Antulay and Rane (and many others)also pay a stiff price for their irresponsbile talk during those anxious times.

    Narain Rane's allegationsBy: P.H.Bhanage | 23-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward While fuming for the denial of Chief Minister ship to himself Mr. Rane had alleged that state politicians including from the then cabinet had helped the terrorist and had threatened to disclose their names.After Narain Rane's rehabilitation(though not exactly on his terms)we have not heard further in the matter from him.So there are only two possibilities; a)Narain Rane's allegations were utterly irresponsible,made to blackmail congress leadership to extract his pound of flesh or b)he indeed knows something in the matter but does not want to divulge, as he has been rehabilitated. Both the possibilities are undesirable.Hence Rane must apologize if "a)" is true or investigating authorities must try to extricate the truth if "b)" is true. In any case,this establishes the fact that certain unscrupulous politicians continue to play dangerous games,detrimental to the security of the country.

    Sorry SpectacleBy: Ravi | 22-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward We could not have more rediculous spectalcle of justice when everybody knows Kasab killed so many innocent women. For the sake of fair play of the sytem, we are making fun of the victims who died in the worst terrorist attack in history. I would not be suppried if there is a hijack of air craft and they demand release of kasab. Why should we prove to the world that we have a decent judicial system? Why can't we choose some other cases. This case is most painful. And the Defence Lawyer might start the Kasab fan club
