Makkar to make a case against Prof Darshan Singh before Takht

Avtar Singh Makkar,president of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC),on Sunday said that he would appeal to the Akal Takht to give severe punishment to Prof Darshan Singh,former Jathedar of Akal Takht,for commenting about Guru Gobind Singh in Dasam Granth.

Makkar was addressing a public gathering at Gurudwara Dashmesh Pita,Chander Nagar on the occasion of inauguration of a new building of the gurudwara.

The SGPC chief said,“Giving such statements is not appreciable for a former jathedar of Akal Takht. There are anti-social elements who are instigating him to do so. I also request the Sikh devotees to urge to Akal Takht to severely punish Prof Darshan Singh.”
