Malegaon blast: Muslims to wear old clothes for Eid

    Muslims in Malegaon will celebrate Eid by wearing old clothes and also tie black badges in protest.

    Muslims in this town of Maharashtra will celebrate Eid on Thursday by wearing old clothes instead of new and also tie black badges in protest against last Friday's blast that left five persons dead.

    This was stated by Moulana Abdul Hameed Azhari of Kul Jamati Tanzim, a religious group, in Malegaon on Wednesday.

    A large number of security personnel were deployed in Malegaon, the communally-sensitive powerloom town, in view of Eid being celebrated on Thursday.

    State Reserve Police force, Rapid Action Force, Central Reserve Police Force personnel were placed in east Malegaon and extra police force also being maintained there, DSP Nikhil Gupta told reporters.

    Meanwhile, the death toll in Friday's blast rose to five with one more injured succumbing to his injuries on Wednesday. He was identified as Irfankhan Ziaullkhan, 20.

    State Civil Supplies Minister Baba Saddique visited the blast affected areas, inquired about the health of the injured in hospitals and also met relatives of the victims.
