Malik Sports beat Hargopal CC

Man-of-the-match award to centurion Jagrit Anand was the only consolation for Hargopal Cricket Club as they went down by four wickets against Malik Sports in a league match of the ongoing Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather tournament on Tuesday.

Anand scored a stroke-filled 107 off only 59 balls that included 10 fours and six sixes as Hargopal posted a competitive total of 299 for the loss of eight wickets after electing to bat first at Modern School grounds. Karan Rai,Vikramjeet Singh and Ankit Maini were the other main contributors to the Hargopal total. For Malik,Rajiv Rawat and Amit Dahiya shared seven wickets a piece to stop the run flow.

But Abhinav Kataria had other ideas. Not only did he overhaul Anand’s individual score of 107,by making 118,he was the main contributor in Malik Sports’ win.

Malik Sports achieved the target in 36.5 overs Kataria score of118 included 12 fours and 7 sixes. Mayank Rajput made an unbeaten 47,while Ashish Ranjan scored 49.

For Hargopal,Rohan Tuteja 2/42 was most successful bowler.
