If Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik was keeping mum on Pakistan Cricket Board’s concerns on Misbah-ul-Haq’s association with Royal Challenger, a liquor brand, he also didn’t seem unduly worried about former national team mate Shoaib Akhtar joining rivals Kolkata Knight Riders, an opponent they are yet to play. “This (Misbah issue) is a PCB matter. I have nothing to say. I am concentrating on my game tomorrow and not on any other matter,” Malik said.

But Sehwag, oddly enough, grabbed the microphone and said: “Our sponsors are Kingfisher Airlines and they take care of our traveling. It has nothing to do with the beer company.”

On to more cricketing matters then. Malik, said he was not worried about former national team mate and speedster Shoaib Akhtar joining Kolkata Knight Riders, against whom Delhi are yet to play their first match. “I am not happy with the way I have batted till now, so my focus will be that and not Shoaib Akhtar. We are playing Chennai tomorrow and I am focusing on just this match. Akhtar is a great bowler, but we’ll deal with him when we come to it,” Malik said after Delhi Daredevils’s practice session at Ferozeshah Kotla on Wednesday.

Skipper Sehwag, who knows a bit about turning games around, stressed that each individual’s contribution was important in this slam-bang version. “One man can win you the match in this format. As far as our team goes, we will try to retain the winning combination, that is keeping four pacers and two spinners in the playing XI. Shoaib and I can bowl part time.” Sehwag also refused to get edgy about the issue of dropping foreigners. “It’s not difficult. We can play just four foreigners in the team and whenever I rest a player, I go and and explain the reasons. We want to field our best 11.”
