We are not supporting him for package because we do not do the politics of package. We are doing it because of our commitment to the people and democracy. Let him become the President. Referring to the UPA-II,Mamata said: In 2009,we were the first party to hand over the letter of support to Pranab Mukherjee. I believe,it helped him gain in stature and also helped build his bright future.

Talking about the CPM,she said its a very selfish party. They have no ideology. They are in collusion with the Congress and everyday the Congress is using obnoxious language against us. But we have never attacked any senior Congress leader. We want to keep the alliance intact as per our commitment. We all know the TMC was born because of the Congresss friendship with the CPM. They have always been hobnobbing… But still we want to remain in the coalition with our agenda of protests on issues mentioned in our manifesto,like FDI in retail,hike in petroleum prices,SEZ,land acquisition policy etc, she said.
