  • Fans are sensing an opportunity in Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee’s rising popularity in West Bengal. One such fan has produced a booklet titled — “Ekaai Eksho: Mamata Banerjee (Hundred Percent Alone: Mamata Banerjee)” — and it is being sold by hawkers on local trains in Kolkata. Though the booklet hardly contains anything the politically conscious Bengali voter does not know yet, it is achieving the twin goal of furthering Mamata’s political ambitions as well as earning some quick bucks for the fan-turned-publisher. The interesting part however is that the book priced at Rs 10 is being sold for just Rs 3 on local trains, and die-hard Trinamool supporters can’t digest this. After all, for them, “Didi” is no ordinary human.
