Backs Anna & Co demand of Parliament's dissolution, says UPA dead & decomposed.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said she agreed with activist Anna Hazare and previous Army Chief V K Singh on the issue of immediate dissolution of Parliament as the UPA government is "dead".

"I fully agree with what Anna Hazare and his ilk said yesterday that Parliament should be dissolved and fresh elections be held. The UPA government has become a minority and has no moral or constitutional right to govern,'' the Chief Minister said at the Writers' Buildings as the state secretariat resumed work after a 10-day puja vacation on Tuesday.

In a sharp barb against the UPA government, she said: "The dead UPA government is in such a state of decomposition that there is no one to carry it to a crematorium."

Mamata, who had earlier spoken of the possibility of her party moving a no-confidence motion in Parliament said, "You may be asking why we are not bringing a no-confidence." "The day we withdrew our support to the government, we triggered the demand for no-confidence. And, the government should have suo motu gone to Parliament to ascertain whether they enjoyed the confidence of the House after these disastrous decisions," she said referring to the government's decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail and capping of subsidised LPG cylinders to six a year. "In fact, it's the CBI which is now running the government," she said and adding that some people are giving threats of CBI, Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate.

She claimed that all the alliance partners of the Congress have left the government and that the UPA government is actually a Congress government. "(SP chief) Mulayamji, (BSP chief) Mayawatiji or DMK are not with them. It's only Sharad Pawar who is with them. The decisions they are taking are disastrous for the country but they have not sought the confidence of the House before taking those decisions. The government is dead and it needs a cremation or a burial and fresh elections should be held," she added.
