The exhibition of Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjees paintings at Gallerie 88 has already fetched the party Rs 1 crore.
The exhibition,which was inaugurated on April 4 and scheduled to end today,has been extended by a day.
Mamata arranged the exhibition to raise election funds for her party. The buyers included industrialists Sanjiv Goenka,Harsh Neotia,Rishi Agarwal and Srinjoy Bose. All 95 paintings that were on display have been sold. Since there were more art connoisseurs thronging the gallery,the show has been extended by another day. Didi,who is still painting,has promised to send five-six more paintings by tomorrow, said Shivaji Panja of Jago Bangla,the Trinamool mouthpiece that organised the show.
