Man attacked,robbed in his house; ATM watchman looted at gunpoint

A man was woken up shortly after midnight only to be robbed in Bhosari by two unidentified men at his door.

A man was woken up shortly after midnight only to be robbed in Bhosari by two unidentified men at his door. Mahesh Baburao Dhumale (24) was sleeping at his house when someone knocked at the door at around 12.15 am on Monday.

When Dhumale opened the door,he found two persons who demanded money from him. But when he refused,they attacked him on the leg with sharp weapons and took two cell phones and Rs 800 from him. After they fled,Dhumale lodged a complaint at Bhosari police station.

Meanwhile,two motorcycle-borne assailants pointed a revolver on the watchman of State Bank of India (SBI) ATM in Aundh and robbed his cell phone worth Rs 1,500 around 1.30 pm. The watchman,Ramesh Puramchand Chavan (27),resident of Kumar Wada,Aundh,lodged the complaint of robbery against the two unknown persons at Chaturshringi police station.

Police said Chavan was on duty at the SBI ATM at Parihar chowk. Two men on motorcycle approached him and asked him if there was money in the ATM. Chavan told them there was no money following which the duo allegedly pointed a revolver at Chavan’s head and robbed him of his cell phone. Investigation is on to identify the robbers in the two cases. Police sub inspector M N Walekar is investigating the case.

In another incident,two persons on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs 30,000 from an elderly woman at Shastri Nagar,Yerawada on Monday.
