A 21-year-old man,Ashish Kumar Sharma, died after he was allegedly attacked with bricks in Lucknows Talkatora area on Wednesday. Ashishs father Ganga Narayan Sharma, who was with him at the time of the incident, was also attacked. He sustained injuries and has been admitted to a hospital. Ashishs body has been sent for postmortem and its report is awaited. In his complaint to the police,Ganga Narayan said accused Ramesh Yadav had attacked them with bricks over an old dispute following which his son died and he suffered injury. However, the police said that there are several loopholes in the story narrated by Ganga Narayan. Ganga Narayan suffered fracture in one of his hands, which is not possible if attacked by bricks. There are several more reasons why we have doubt over the theory given by Ganga Narayan, said Sudhir Pal Dhama,Station Officer,Talkatora. He said that Ganga Narayan and accused Ramesh Yadav had a dispute over land. According to Dhama, the complainant said he along with his son Ashish was going to his brother Shriram Sharmas house in Talkatora. They were waiting for a tempo when Yadav attacked them with bricks from behind. Ashish died on spot, while Ganga Narayan suffered injuries. The police suspect it was a case of accident and Ganga Narayan fabricated the story to settle scores with Yadav. The police did not found any witness or bricks with blood strains from the spot.
