Apparently frustrated by the administration’s “inability” to resolve a dispute between him and his neighbour, a man axed six members of his own family and the neighbour to death, at Sainik Society in Jabalpur on Monday.
Sunil Sen killed his mother, wife, two children, sister and nephew before killing neighbour Rajkumar Gautam, with whom he had a dispute over a sewer. Gautam had built his house adjacent to Sunil’s about three years ago, blocking part of the sewer, which had become a cause of frequent quarrels between the two.
A post-graduate, Sunil, 30, ran a hair-dressing salon.
Neighbours who had a tough time overpowering the axe-wielding Sunil, handed him over to the police.
“Bring municipal commissioner, MLA, mayor and collector here before I answer your questions,” Sunil said when asked why he committed such act.
Jabalpur SP A K Singh said Sunil was not drunk when he committed the crime. “It is difficult to understand why he killed his family members when he had a dispute with his neighbour,” Singh told The Indian Express.
