Man booked for attempt to kill wife

The Pune police have booked an employee of a city tech firm and his parents for allegedly attempting to kill his wife by poisoning her.

The suspects have been identified as Chetan Pansare,his father Vilas and mother Mangala,all residents of Moreshwar building,Chintamani Nagar,Bibvewadi.

Chetan’s wife Rupali Pansare (29) has lodged the complaint with the Sahkarnagar police in this case.

According to the police,Rupali has mentioned in her complaint that Chetan was allegedly having an affair with another girl named Swati.

He and his parents allegedly subjected Rupali to mental and physical torture.

Police sub inspector S A Ide,who is investigating the case,said Chetan got married to Rupali last year. Soon,Rupali came to know of his relationship with a girl Swati,with whom he used to speak on the telephone for long hours.

This led to a dispute between the couple.

Police said that Chetan even starved Rupali. On March 19,they gave her some mango juice,allegedly spiked with poison,to drink.

After drinking the juice,Rupali got sick and lost consciousness.

She has been admitted to the Budhrani Hospital in Koregaon Park for treatment.
