Man commits suicide at Delhi metro station

A middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at a Metro station in central Delhi.

A middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at a Metro station in central Delhi on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at 8.16 am at the Chawri Bazar metro station when the unidentified man,in his fifties,jumped onto the track when a train from Jahangirpuri was entering the platform,a metro spokesperson said.

The man died on the spot.

Following the incident,train services were disrupted for 20 minutes on the line and resumed at 8.36 am. The body has been handed over to the police and they are investigating the incident,the spokesperson said.
