A 45-year-old man was found dead at Gliding center ground in Hadapsar Saturday. Police suspect the man was stoned to death a couple of days ago. The body was sent to the hospital for post-mortem. An offence of murder was registered against unidentified persons. The incident came to light after the security guard at the Centre saw the dead body Saturday afternoon. Hadapsar police have arrested four persons for allegedly murdering an autorickshaw driver. Police identified the suspects as Madhav Chand (43),Baban Koyande (38),Uttareshwar Gond (38) and Sayaji Pawar (43). The deceased had been identified as Vitthal Dnyandev Pawar (45). Pawars family registered a missing report on July 28. Investigation revealed that he had gone to Solapur with the four suspects. Stamps on 100 years of Indian Cinema delayed Philatelists have to wait a bit more for the arrival of commemorative postage stamps released by the department of post to mark the 100-years of Indian Cinema. While the stamps were scheduled to arrive by now,postal department officials have said that it could take more time. The commemorative stamps have not reached the local philately bureau so far. It is believed that there were some technical issues in printing these stamps in bulk, a postal department official said,adding that the stamps might be available in the first week of September. Released on May 3,these stamps portray the all-time greats of Indian cinema. While the denomination of each stamp is Rs. 5,the sale of commemorative stamps was to start by June and was later postponed to August. The department of post should ensure these reach the public as soon as they get released, said Priya Phadnis. Legends such as Prithviraj Kapoor,Ashok Kumar,Durga Khote,Dev Anand,Mehmood and Ruby Myers,Bhalji Pendharkar,Hrishikesh Mukherjee,Nitin Bose,Tapan Sinha,Yash Chopra and noted musicians including Majrooh Sultanpuri,Naushad,RD Burman,OP Nayyar and Madan Mohan have been portrayed on the stamps.
