  • The Junagadh rural police arrested a man on Monday for killing his neighbour’s teenage son, almost a week ago. The body of Akshay Kumbhar (15) was found from a well in Thaniyala village in Manavadar taluka of Junagadh district on November 3, a day after he went missing. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Akshay’s father Mansukh had levelled allegations of mobile theft on the accused, Ramesh Maiya, his neighbour. The victim’s mother Prabhadevi had registered a complaint against Maiya stating that the accused had threatened to kill them. The police said Maiya suffocated the boy and then threw the body into the well. He has been charged with murder under Section 302 of the IPC.
