Man jumps to death after daughter commits suicide

A man jumped out of the window of his eighth-floor flat in Punjabi Colony,Sion-Koliwada,Monday night after his 19-year-old daughter hanged herself.

Antop Hill police said the girl,identified as Meghna,had lost her mother and sister five years ago due to an illness.

Monday evening,her father Subhash Kannada (59) and elder sister returned home from work and knocked at the door. After repeated knocks did not elicit a response,they broke open the door to find Meghna hanging from the ceiling fan.

Police said a shocked Kannada (59) jumped to death within seconds of seeing her body.
