The Delhi Police have arrested one person for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old woman constable on board a DTC bus on Sunday afternoon. The constable reportedly chased and apprehended the accused, Akshay Lal, and took him to the police station.
A senior police officer said the incident took place near Anand Vihar on Sunday afternoon. "The constable was travelling on bus route 344, from Mandawali to Dilshad Garden. Lal allegedly got on the bus and molested the constable. When the bus stopped, he tried to escape. The constable gave chase, caught him and managed to bring him to the police station," the officer said.
Police said a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code had been registered and further investigations were underway.
