Man on way to attend wife’s dohal jevan among 4 of family dead in road mishap

A Pune-based man going to Parbhani to attend his pregnant wife's dohal jevan (a traditional family function for pregnant woman), died along with his father, sister and an aunt, in a road mishap at Kinohla Pati on the Parbhani Pathari highway in the early hours of Tuesday.
Three persons from the family were injured.
Police identified the deceased as Ankush Uplenchwar (28), his father Anand Uplenchwar (55), sister Ankita (25) and aunt Shubhangi Pundalik Uplenchwar (50).
The injured are Ankush's mother Sunanda Ulenchwar (47), Tejas Omkar Pattewar (10) and Shweta Omkar Pattewar (35).
Police said Ankush's pregnant wife Uma, the daughter of Prakash Vattamwar of Ghavane Rasta in Parbhani area, was in her maternal home. Her husband and in-laws residing in Mangalwar Peth area of Pune were on their way to Parbhani in a four-wheeler to attend Uma's dohal jevan.
Their four-wheeler collided with a container truck head-on around 4.30am. The four reportedly died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Parbhani.
