A man, who was living separately from his family, allegedly raped his four-year-old daughter after consuming liquor at his wife's residence here, police said.

Salim, who had left for Ahmadabad four years ago due to differences with his wife, raped the girl last evening at his wife's place in North-East Delhi's Simapuri area, a senior police official said.

The couple has four daughters.

The incident came to light when his 8-year-old daughter saw him forcing himself upon her sister and informed her mother.

He had returned to the city two days ago to reach a compromise with his wife. A compromise was also reached between them, the official said.

Salem caught up with some of his friends last evening and consumed alcohol, the official said, adding heavily drunk Salem then raped his daughter.

Police, who was informed by the mother about the incident, took the girl to a nearby hospital for a medical examination which confirmed rape.

Salem was arrested and a case of rape registered against him, the official said.
